- Col. Colin Powell successfully completed Air Assault School with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, on 8 October 1976. He was awarded the Air Assault Badge upon completion of the course.
- Description
- One (1) U.S. Army Air Assault badge worn by General Colin L. Powell, earned for his successful completion of the air assault training course. The subdued (black) badge is depicted in the shape of bird’s wings attached to the face and blades of a helicopter. On the reverse of the badge is the “N.S. MEYER / NEW YORK” maker’s engraving alongside two small shield shapes.
