This is a black and white photograph of Etta Moten Barnett. It depicts her seated, wearing a black dress. She is turned a quarter-turn away from the camera to the left and turns her head towards her left shoulder to gaze past the viewer. Her right arm is turned outward from her body at a ninety degree angle and her right hand is propped on her right hip. Her left hand rests in her lap, holding a grey clutch bag. She wears a dress with a high turtleneck and long sleeves. On her head is a black beret. At her neckline is a brooch in the shape of bow suspended from two rings, and on her left wrist is a large chunky chain link bracelet. In the bottom right corner of the image is white text that reads “Bloom / Chicago.” The back of the photograph is blank.
