The Museum is honored to have welcomed more than 3.5 million visitors since opening. To best serve the public we offer multiple options for obtaining passes for entry to the Museum.
Obtaining Timed Entry Passes
Free timed entry passes for the Museum may be obtained only through Etix. Each timed entry pass provided through Etix has a unique code and can only be used once. Passes produced and distributed through other services or from individuals not associated with the Museum will not be honored. Free passes may not be sold.
The Museum offers the following options for obtaining timed entry passes to the museum.
Same-day timed entry passes are available online beginning at 6:30 a.m. ET daily until they run out. You may obtain up to four (4) same-day passes per order. Same-day passes are not available via phone.
Walkups (Weekday Only)
A limited number of walk-up passes (one per person) are available starting at 1 p.m. on weekdays on the Madison Drive side of the building. No walk up passes are available on Saturdays or Sundays due to high visitation.
Following Walk-Up Wednesdays in April and May, the Museum has announced Walk-Up Weekdays in September. Individuals may enter the museum on a first-come, first-served basis Monday through Friday for the entire month of September.
Timed entry passes will not be distributed for weekdays (Mondays - Fridays) in September and will only be required for Saturdays and Sundays September 1 & 2, 8 & 9, 15 & 16, 22 & 23 and 29 & 30, 2018. Walk-up entry in September is a continuation of a pilot to test no-pass entry. For more information, please visit our Walk-Up Weekdays page.
Advance timed entry passes for individuals are released on the first Wednesday of each month. Our next release for October 2018 passes is on Wednesday, July 11th at 9 a.m. ET (second Wednesday due to July 4th holiday on the first Wednesday). You may obtain up to six (6) advance passes per order. Passes go very quickly when released.
The Museum’s popularity among people around the world has created a high demand for group passes for schools, churches, families and more. For that reason, group reservations are suspended to complete development and testing of a new group request process. We appreciate your support.
Exchanges and Cancellations
Free passes may not be sold. If you can not visit the museum on your scheduled date and can not find someone who can use them, then you may cancel your passes or exchange them for a different date, subject to availability. Please initiate your exchange or cancel request by submitting an Etix customer service request. Include your order number and requested dates and times if applicable.
For everyone’s safety, all visitors are required to pass through screening at the entrance to the Museum. During the security process, you are greeted by one of our security personnel who conduct a thorough but speedy hand-check of all bags, briefcases, purses, strollers, and containers. All visitors are required to walk through a metal detector. Those visitors unable to go through the metal detector will be hand-screened with an electronic wand by security personnel.
