Timed Entry Passes

The Museum requires timed-entry passes for certain peak times and seasons when visitation is highest. During off-peak times, when visitation is lower, visitors can enter the Museum on weekdays without passes.

Peak Season (March-August)

Advance Timed Passes and same-day online timed passes are required for entry before 1pm and on the weekends.

  • Walk-Up Weekday entry begins at 1pm Monday through Friday. 
  • Passes are available online three months in advance and are issued the first Wednesday of every month.
  • Same-day online passes are released at 6:30 am, Monday – Sunday.
  • Groups are required to have passes every day during peak and off-peak seasons.
  • Walk-up entry is not available on Saturdays or Sundays due to high visitation.

Off-Peak Season (September-February)

Walk-Up Weekday entry begins at 10 am Monday through Friday.

  • Timed passes will only be required on weekends.
  • Passes are available online three months in advance and are issued the first Wednesday of every month.
  • Same-day online passes are released at 6:30 am, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Groups are required to have passes every day during peak and off-peak seasons.
  • Walk-up entry is not available on Saturdays or Sundays due to high visitation.

Advance timed entry passes for individuals are released on the first Wednesday of each month. You may obtain up to six (6) advance passes per order. Passes go very quickly when released.

Weekends JANUARY - DECEMBER

Passes are required on Saturdays or Sundays due to high visitation. Advance timed entry passes for weekends are available when passes are released the first Wednesday of each month. (Same-day online passes are released at 6:30 am on weekends.)

Weekdays MARCH - AUGUST

Passes are required on Saturdays or Sundays due to high visitation. Advance timed entry passes for weekends are available when passes are released the first Wednesday of each month. (Same-day online passes are released at 6:30 am on weekends.)

Schedule Your Visit

Same-day timed entry passes are available online beginning at 6:30 a.m. ET daily until they run out. You may obtain up to four (4) same-day passes per order. Same-day passes are not available via phone.

Reserve 

Group passes for 10 people or more are required every day of the year, during both peak and off-peak seasons.

The Museum provides group entry for 75,000 persons or more each month, with more available on weekends when groups frequently visit.

Weekdays at 1 pm MARCH - AUGUST

During our peak season, March – August, visitors may walk-up for entry without a pass Monday – Friday beginning at 1 p.m. Walk-up entry is not available on Saturdays or Sundays due to high visitation. Same-day online passes are released at 6:30 am, Monday – Sunday.

Weekdays at 10 am SEPTEMBER - FEBRUARY

During our off-peak season, September – February, walk-up entry is available all day Monday – Friday. Walk-up entry is not available on Saturdays or Sundays due to high visitation.

Exchanges and Cancellations

Free passes may not be sold. If you cannot visit the museum on your scheduled date and cannot find someone who can use them, then you may cancel your passes or exchange them for a different date, subject to availability. Please initiate your exchange or cancel request by submitting an Etix customer service request. Include your order number and requested dates and times if applicable.

Security

For everyone’s safety, all visitors are required to pass through screening at the entrance to the Museum. During the security process, you are greeted by one of our security personnel who conduct a thorough but speedy hand-check of all bags, briefcases, purses, strollers, and containers. All visitors are required to walk through a metal detector. Those visitors unable to go through the metal detector will be hand-screened with an electronic wand by security personnel.
