Frequently Asked Questions

Are you eliminating advanced timed passes?

No. This pilot program, Walk-Up Weekdays in January and February, will help the museum leadership determine the continued use of timed passes. Timed passes are still required for groups every day, including during the Walk-Up Weekdays pilot program.

Will the museum allow large groups and tours to enter without reservations during Walk-Up Weekdays in January and February?

The museum will continue to require advance reservations for commercial tours and groups of ten or more. All groups are required to present passes to gain entry at a designated entrance.

Will Sweet Home Café and the museum shop have longer hours?

Sweet Home Café and Museum Shop hours will remain the same. Sweet Home Café is open 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. every day. The Museum Shop is open 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. every day.

How does Walk-Up Weekdays in January and February affect your policy for Veterans or First Responders?

Veterans, active duty personnel and first responders may join the walk-up entry line to enter the museum on a first come first served basis. If the museum is at or nearing capacity, then all visitors in line, including veterans, active duty personnel and first responders, will be asked to wait until the museum has room to accommodate more visitors.

What happens when the museum reaches capacity?

Entry to the museum is always subject to building capacity. If the museum is nearing capacity, all visitors in line will be asked to wait until a number of visitors depart in order to accommodate more visitors.

Will you be able to accommodate all visitors?

We hope to grant entry to all visitors on weekdays in January and February. However, entry to the museum is subject to capacity to ensure the safety of our visitors. All visitors in line for Walk-Up Wednesdays in April and May were able to visit the museum. No one was turned away.

Will there be long lines to get in the building? How long will I need to wait?

Yes, there may be long lines to enter on weekdays if the building is at or nearing capacity. However, providing walk-up opportunities on weekdays provides visitors with more options.

Will the Museum's operating hours change during Walk-Up Weekdays?

No. Our regular operating hours are from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. The Museum is open 7-days a week, 364 days a year. The Museum is closed on December 25.
