- Description
- A maroon dress with gold sequins and beaded fringe designed by Peter Davy. The dress is made of maroon synthetic velvet, it has a single cap sleeve on the proper right side. The neckline is bordered with trim made of gold plastic sequins and gold metallic beads. The same trim is used on the edge of the sleeve, the top embellishment, and hemline. Beaded fringe consisting of gold and clear seed beads with a bugle bead are sewn to the bottom of the sleeve and hem. The proper right side of the dress is sleeveless and has a sweetheart neckline. Padding is placed under the cap sleeve. Three areas of highly concentrated embellishments are sewn along the front of the dress. The embellishments consist of strips of gold sequin trim oriented diagonally. Thin synthetic gold lamé trim is placed throughout the embellishments. Beaded fringe consisting of gold and clear seed beads with a bugle bead are sewn long edges of the embellished areas. Three flowers made of gold sequins and beads are sewn along the embellished areas, one at the proper left side of the waistline and two along the middle section of the embellished area. The back of the dress is made of maroon velvet, with decorative gold trim placed along the neckline, the end of the sleeve, and hemline. A fifteen-inch plastic zipper with a metal pull is sewn to the proper left side of the dress. The dress has a center back seam and a shaping dart on each side. The back of the neckline and top of the sleeve are faced with black synthetic. Two self-fabric hanger loops are sewn to each side. The back of the dress is unlined, the center back seam is finished with the selvage. The front is lined with white synthetic bobbinet. Gold synthetic lamé is sewn along the lining at the proper left side of the bust. Plastic boning is placed at the proper left side of the bust. The dress is unlabeled.
